Seattle’s Adopt a Street Program

Adopt a Street Logo and Identity Design

Adopt a Street is Seattle’s grassroots litter-removal program, powered by thousands of volunteers who clean hundreds of miles of city streets where they live, work, learn, and play. To better reflect the program’s impact and visibility, we collaborated with Adopt a Street staff to create a comprehensive identity design system.

The new logo and visual system were designed to be approachable, memorable, and adaptable across applications. Inspired by Seattle’s unique environment—its skyline, roads, greenery, and waterways—the logo captures the connection between community and place. The identity is supported by a vibrant color palette and flexible design guidelines that strengthen recognition across program materials.

Cityscape and Neighborhood Logo Design

A key element of the rollout included neighborhood signs installed across the city. These signs proudly highlight which groups or individuals have adopted specific streets, creating community visibility, building pride, and spreading awareness of the program. Together, the refreshed identity and signage system increase engagement and strengthen the connection between Seattle residents and their shared public spaces.

The Adopt a Street Program is an initiative of Seattle Public Utilities.
