We saw the ‘Animation for Adults’ series of shorts at SIFF on Friday and it was excellent. I am a huge fan of shorts at film festivals. It feels like you get more for your money, I think we saw a dozen shorts. Also, you don’t have to worry about sitting through some 3hr-long-gut-wrenching-crap-pile.
My clear favorite was a short called ‘The Wonder Hospital’. It was just right. Cute and demented with awesome animated characters and a good mini-story. The trailer gives you a good idea of director/animator Shimbe’s take on hospital bureaucracy.
