People apparently LOVE certain corporate logos. Or they love to RAGE at random corporate design changes. Maybe, it is both. A delicate mix of love and hate.
As you may have heard Gap changed its logo. And boy oh boy, Facebook, Twitter, and the Internet all got super-duper mad. Gap had done the unthinkable. The took their old logo, a blue box with the word GAP inside, and turned it into an unholy abomination. This new offensive mark, the word GAP with a little blue box by it, would not be tolerated.
Gap was dutifully apologetic for the horrible blight they had unleashed upon our pristine consumer landscape. “Ok. We’ve heard loud and clear that you don’t like the new logo. We’ve learned a lot from the feedback,” the company said on its Facebook Page. “We only want what’s best for the brand and our customers. So instead of crowdsourcing, we’re bringing back the Blue Box tonight.”
I think everyone has missed a very important question here, and this is coming from someone who usually loves to hate.
